How do I apply for an OSHA-10 Card?

The OSHA-10 card can be found at any number of training centers online and off. It is a ten-hour course, usually given over two evenings. Sometimes you can find it on the weekends – 5 hours each on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Occasionally you can find the course offered for free at a local community center – but usually the cost is between $100 and $200. The card is good for life, needs no renewal or updates.

Recent regulatory changes require OSHA-10 cards of all workers on projects receiving certain Federal funds. These projects are setting the new standard for safety and insurance companies are following the pattern, in some cases offering lower rates to companies that have OSHA-10 staffing. Going forward, it’s wise for everyone to have this easy-to-get certification.

As of this writing, ECC currently has openings in a handful of free courses. These are funded by a grant so the spaces are limited. For information and registration, call 716-851-1805 OR EMAIL: seeld@ecc.edu

Some other places around Buffalo that offer the Training are:

The Safety and Health Training Center
UB’s Toxicology Research Center
Construction Exchange of WNY (there are membership requirements there as well).
