I was honored to participate in a panel discussion during the International Association of Workforce Professionals (IAWP) 103rd Annual Educational Conference wherein we explored the relationship between “Workforce Professionals” and employers in Western New York.
I spoke from the perspective of construction and trades employers. Sandra Budmark PHR, LEED AP was there representing Wendel Duchscherer Architects & Engineers PC. Patricia Nardone, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York.
The discussion ranged from forecasting employment in our respective fields, to age discrimination, and later to hiring practices within our respective companies.
I took the opportunity to express my belief that it may be time to entirely rethink the way we counsel folks to write resumes.
I think we all gained valuable insights.
