We sell and distribute industrial pipes and valves to contractors and manufacturers throughout Western New York. Wanted is a Construction Plumber to do shipping and receiving.
Could someone outside of the industry do this job? Sure. But anyone who has ever busted his butt out in the elements doing plumbing, pipefitting, sprinkler fitting, or any other number of pipe-related trades will make this job look like a vacation.
You’ll use forklifts, pallet jacks, and occasionally a crane to pick and pack orders of large pipe, valves, and fittings. You have to read, identify, and accurately mark up the work order. Much of our inventory is in our not-too sophisticated filing system of bins and shelves–product knowledge will be essential. Also worth noting is that the right person for this job should be comfortable lifting 50-75 lbs on a regular basis.
Our warehouses are not heated or air-conditioned. But on the upside, you’ll make decent money, work year-round, and almost never face a layoff. We pay overtime and give benefits that include paid time off and family health insurance.
