Experienced Roofer Needed to Lead our Team

I need a leader on our team for our crew to set their pace by.

A roofer who not only knows how to nail shingles, but is also adept, confident, and impossible to keep up with.

The new hire I need to make will understand the transition between a vertical surface and the roof surface, between flashing and counterflashing, you could give me at least handful of reasons why we don’t want to do it in one piece.

You can flash a chimney or a wall, and it won’t matter the type of siding.  You can work a brake…quickly and efficiently.

You’ll know a thing or two about ventilation.  You should be able to explain when to use static vents, ridge vents, or when not to ventilate at all.  You can explain make-up air and stack effect to our customer.

I’m looking for someone that can offer great advice (if called upon) to a customer trying to decide which shingles to buy. I’m hoping you can explain the difference between a dimensional shingle and an architectural, an asphalt and a fiberglass, and how to solve a fungus roof problem with the right shingle.  You know how much a typical “square” weighs and why the weight is less important than it was twenty years ago.

The shingler that I’m looking for is good with math.  If I know the rise and run, you can tell me the hypotenuse.  You can do a material take-off on any configuration.  If I give you a hip roof with a 10′ ridge and a couple of dormers, you’ll give me a material list within 5% margins.

The shingler I’m looking for is safe.  You know how to get things done without endangering yourself or your mates.  You are comfortable in a harness and don’t make excuses about it restricting your freedom.  You set an example for others.

It’s an employee’s market right now and you can almost name your price.  So here’s the thing.  If you are a great roofer, I will pay you well. If you’re a great leader, I’ll pay you proper.

The Leader I’m looking for is a mentor and a teacher.  You’re always positive and inspire those who you’re setting the pace for to be better humans.  You’re dependable and consistent—someone worth investing in and building a company around.

If this is you, then you are gold, and I will treat you as such.
