Job Opening for a Shop Carpenter

Question: What did the Graycliff Estate, Guaranty Building, Darwin Martin House, and the Turner Brothers historic skylight restoration project all have in common?

Answer: A job opening for a Shop Carpenter.

The shop you’d be working in!

We do restoration work–mostly windows and doors. But we also do all sorts of odd and complicated projects. Recently we restored a cast iron cornice and currently we’re working on a galvanized steel one. Basically anything that is odd and custom, we get invited to work on.

We’re hiring for what I’m calling a Shop Carpenter.  The person we want is a blend of Cabinet Maker and Finish Carpenter.  He’ll have patience and finesse.  Imagine that we go into a church and restore eighty windows.  Each window, it’s own project.  Sometimes we’re on site removing and installing–sometimes it’s all shop work.   Our ideal carpenter is happy with either scenario.  When work is slow we pick up general remodeling projects–it’s rarely slow.

For this job we’ll look at all skill levels.
