Wholesale Distributor of HVAC Products Hiring an Estimator

**pic by John Krytus

We sell sheet metal and HVAC products—metal, fans, air curtains, louvers, dampers, diffusers—essentially anything that moves air. We sell to companies who call themselves Tin Knockers.

With offices in Buffalo and Rochester, our crew boasts a comfortable twenty(ish) team members.  We have one and a half estimators. One of us wants to spend more time in the field, the other of us needs to spend more time developing inside customers. Consequently, we need to groom an Estimator to take over inside.

As an Estimator you’ll get your specs from the Construction Exchange Plan Room or perhaps directly from contractors. We build our estimates on PlanSwift. It is not unusual for us to be asked to  calculate heat loads.

We’d expect that you could manage a spreadsheet, handle a computer and consistently compose professional emails.

After you win your bid, you’ll handle the submittals and releases that go with them. You’ll order your product and work with our customer’s Project Managers to coordinate delivery, whether drop-ship or direct.  When it’s all over, you’ll tidy everything up with owners manuals and close-outs.

The man you will work under has an amazing memory, and is spot on organized.  The right person for this job will be able to impress him.

The person we hire could be entry level or very experienced. We are open to either conversation.

Estimating is a critical job. Without it, business doesn’t happen.  We recognize this fact and if you are dedicated, will treat you well.
