Your Foreman have received zero formal training
It takes maybe four or five years for a person to become relatively proficient in a trade. Assuming (at that point) that they are a relatively good employee, then they are likely worth $18/hr–$20/hr. The difference between $18/hr and $25/hr–$30/hr is leadership.
Author and speaker Mark Breslin, Breslin Strategies, Inc. writes, “On average, your foremen have received zero formal professional leadership and management training to prepare them for this high-level responsibility, role and identity.” If this sounds like your situation, register for the Construction Exchange’s Supervisory Training Program.
The next three units of STP will be:
- Understanding and Managing Project Costs
- Accident Prevention and Loss Control
- General Specialty Contractor Dynamics
Thank you Construction Exchange for making us aware of this opportunity.
