Don’t be a Jose´
When I last saw Jose´, he had stopped in to my office to tell me he’d been hired on full-time and would be receiving a promotion. I was sad when a year later his employer (Enviro-Care) filed for bankruptcy.
He just left my office. He came in announcing (without shame) that now that his unemployment was about to run out he could go back to working a legitimate job.
Jose´ has skills. He’s personable. People like him. There was absolutely no reason for him to sit on unemployment other than the fact that he could freelance and collect on his entitlement at the same time.
This scenario plays itself out almost every day in my office.
Don’t be a Jose´.
