Nick Corcodilos and Ask The Headhunter
I’ve followed Nicks blog for more than a decade and admittedly he’s taught me some things over the years. If I am not mistaken, Mr. Corcodilos has more than double my experience in the recruiting industry. I’ve been so impressed with his insight that at one point I had as many as 14 blog posts linked to his website.
Nick has always been an advocate of the job seeker. He throws stones at HR departments and fellow headhunters. I’ve always been okay with that. I often use his jabs as a gut check for my own work.
Recently I felt compelled to cut ties with Mr. Corcodilos because I believe he has gone off the deep end. Who knows, perhaps the work has finally gotten to him.
One of the most important things for a job seeker is to remain positive because once negativity sets in, it can ruin a person. It’s tangible. You can smell it in an interview.
I’m not saying that a negative person can’t find a job, but I will say that if you find a job that is rooted in negativity you will most certainly be miserable for a portion, if not all of your career.
Well, Nick has gone negative. So much so that I am afraid to direct web traffic his direction. I do not want to be seen as endorsing his negative advice. Most importantly I no longer feel comfortable referring him as a resource for my own clients. Therefore I have removed my endorsements of Nick from my website.
If you’re seeing this message it is likely because you linked back here from a comment I made on his blog.
