Supervisor–Heavy Equipment Mechanics

The position will be servicing our field operations by ensuring they have what they need when they need it in good working order. Essentially supervising our Mechanics with a strong emphasis on record keeping. Important in this job will be the implementation of a computerized project management system that is part of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (Viewpoint Construction Software – now called Vista) as well as utilizing the system for some of the record and information tracking.

Our company does heavy machine and equipment installation and hauling, underwater construction, heavy highway and bridge work.

This position can be demanding at times and will require multitasking.  Good judgment and an even temperament. A heavy construction background would serve this person well.

A Supervisor for our Heavy Equipment Mechanics must be meticulous about service records on our cranes, tractors and trailers, pickups, generators, welders, compressors, and specialized diving equipment. Also truck cranes, heavy forklifts, hydraulic gantries and specialized heavy haul hydraulic trailer (Goldhofer). Some of this equipment has computers and circuitry that will be involved.

Specific skills, Certifications and/or Education Needed

• Heavy construction background
• Successful supervisory career
• Heavy equipment maintenance background
• Computer literate and organized
• Track record and ability to prove multitasking and good judgment
