Environmental Project Manager for Consulting Firm
Wanted is an Environmental Project Manager to operate as the liaison between the building owner’s representative, architectural and engineering clients and our employees. Our project manager oversees the completion of projects and will be involved in some way with all departments in the company.
Job Duties
- Conduct meetings with clients prior to work commencement to ensure understanding of work scope and potential issues
- Provide oversight of staff members, including guidance and assistance with resolution of technical and contractual issues
- Review and propose revisions to all reports and deliverables associated with the project prior to submission to the client to ensure that work was performed in accordance with the contract, SOPs and regulations and information was recorded accurately
- Conduct site visits to ensure that employees are following proper technical and health/safety-related regulations and standard operating procedures
- Conduct construction administration services for projects including submittal review, meeting attendance, RFI response, field order review and general consultation to clients
- Provide in-house training of new and existing environmental personnel
- Provide Operations Manager with recommended staff members and scheduling for each project
- Attend meetings with Operations Manager and consultants assigned to projects prior to project inception to ensure consultants are prepared for projects
- Direct and oversee IAQ and “other” environmental testing and sampling
- Compile, review and file paperwork and project update from environmental staff on a daily basis for completeness, accuracy and problem resolution
- Formulate cost proposals and backup materials for submission to President
- Review job costing, job profitability and department profitability reports with Operations Manager and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement
- Evaluate the performance of environmental staff members for compliance with established policies and objectives of firm and contributions in attaining objectives
Other Job Duties
- Conduct inspections and monitoring as required
- Prepare abatement design documents including contract documents, budget estimates, contamination assessments and applications for site-specific variances compiled by others
- Prepare other hazardous materials, mold and indoor air quality specifications and testing plans
- Perform assigned duties and special projects as assigned by management
Requirements
- Ability to obtain Project Designer Certification
- Current certifications in Asbestos Inspector and/or EPA Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor (preferred)
- Must have reliable transportation with proof of required insurance and valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass MVR (motor vehicle record) check, OSHA-required physical, and drug test
- A background check may be required for government work
